Agronomist – STO Job
Description
Key Responsibilities include:
To impart product knowledge and crop management skills to Sales Executive and development officers
To help sales team in 3B stage and studying hybrid performance under famer package of practices
To Develop and impart product specific and regional specific promotional strategies.
To support National Agronomy lead to carry out product stewardship activities.
To execute product promotional activities in meeting overall objectives of DAS and product portfolio goals
To participate in key market development activities to provide customer education on Dow Seeds
To conduct product evaluation trials to identify hybrids for the given geography
To coordinate with SAUs for hybrid testing and other business related works
To support National Agronomy Led to collect and analyze trial data.
Key Skills Desired:
- Domain knowledge of seeds – Agronomy, Sales & Marketing roles done at least at National level (2 to 3 years minimum)
- Key system knowledge in the domain of seed business.
- Self motivated with passion to drive start up seed environment in the Agronomy domain.
- Networking and interpersonal skills
- Team player
Qualifications
Candidate must possess Bachelor degree in Agricutlure. Master of Science or Doctorate in Agriculture, Biology, Science & Technology, Biotechnology, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Candidate should have at least 2-7 years of experience in product development/ research trials/ breeding/ seed production research in a seed company preferably in a Multinational Seed Company.

AGRI-JOB OPPORTUNITIES - AN E(I)NTRODUCTION
We all Agricos Know that Agriculture is an Evergreen subject(infact its a way of life or culture for many of the human beings) and it is also an established fact that there is no dearth of Employment for "we agricos".
we have so many domains to work in like:
Agricultural Reasearch & Development: which requires for a minimum of PG
Agricultural Input sales and Marketing : many MNCs have paved a way for this
Agri-Related Rural Banking : RDOs, Field officers etc,
Agriculture Extension Services : mainly in Public Sector(Agri-clinics can also come in this Category)
Agri-Commodities marketing : Commodities Purchase,logistics,Processing.
These are Traditional jobs available for Agricos.but we are missing out on some emerging sectors like Agri-business Analytics, Agri-business consultancy, Agri-Genetic Engineering , commodity exchanges etc,
But to create new niches for ourselves and for being a part of any new technology say biotechnology(this is already a grown-up baby), NANOTECHNOLOGY(TNAU is offering a course) we have to strive hard and use those technologies for Developing new agri-Technologies which inturn would raise the scope of Agriculture and increase the EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES for Agricos,Agriculturists and other dependents.
" Interdisciplinary approach" is the Order of the Day in Agriculture.
Agribiotechnology,Agri-Microbiology are all some fruits of such approach , but they are all have become traditional. Integrating Agriculture with Information Technology like Bio-Informatics, computational Biology,Modern climatological techniques , Genetic Engineering are all needed . And as we know the number of Agricos Passing out in India is around 10k to 15k it is a likely Responsibility for Every Agrico to be very Knowlegeable and be WORLD CLASS and take responsibilities on their shoulders to develop such every "INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES POSSIBLE" to increase the Length and width of Agricultural Arena.Such Increased per capita efficiency of Agricos would also increase their per-capita incomes and there by their STATUS in the society
