Agronomist – STO Job

Description

Key Responsibilities include:

To impart product knowledge and crop management skills to Sales Executive and development officers

To help sales team in 3B stage and studying hybrid performance under famer package of practices

To Develop and impart product specific and regional specific promotional strategies.

To support National Agronomy lead to carry out product stewardship activities.

To execute product promotional activities in meeting overall objectives of DAS and product portfolio goals

To participate in key market development activities to provide customer education on Dow Seeds

To conduct product evaluation trials to identify hybrids for the given geography

To coordinate with SAUs for hybrid testing and other business related works

To support National Agronomy Led to collect and analyze trial data.

Key Skills Desired:

- Domain knowledge of seeds – Agronomy, Sales & Marketing roles done at least at National level (2 to 3 years minimum)
- Key system knowledge in the domain of seed business.
- Self motivated with passion to drive start up seed environment in the Agronomy domain.
- Networking and interpersonal skills
- Team player

Qualifications

Candidate must possess Bachelor degree in Agricutlure. Master of Science or Doctorate in Agriculture, Biology, Science & Technology, Biotechnology, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Candidate should have at least 2-7 years of experience in product development/ research trials/ breeding/ seed production research in a seed company preferably in a Multinational Seed Company.

Qualification & Experience

• PhD in the area of Biological Sciences with expertise in extraction and purification of biochemical components and biochemical method development.
• At least 5 years’ experience with international research institutes/universities, public or private sector research laboratories/companies in the area of biochemical and analytical method development for food analysis.
• Experience of working in international research laboratories/universities and experience in mentoring of students and training of laboratory personal shall be an added advantage.

 Computer skills, with an understanding of statistical design and analysis of field research trials.

 Experience with farm machinery, weed management, crop simulation modeling, and/or crop-livestock interactions would be an asset.
